No medical field has ever been so overexposed as the plastic surgery; yet its field is not as known among the medical community. There are no specific boundaries in defining the field of the plastic surgery. Sometimes, the tasks of a plastic surgeon overlap those of doctors of other specialties. Sometimes, the need for a plastic surgeon to work with a doctor of other specialty is obligatory.

The purpose of this page is to present some interesting cases from the doctor’s files. Through this presentation, the doctor aims to present a side of the plastic surgery which is not so known to the vast medical community. That side though carries the bulk of the knowledge and the techniques comparing with the cosmetical surgery.

Every case will be accompanied with photographs and the appropriate description. The patient will be called after his initials only. All the operations presented, have been made in Athens and the older presented was made 5 years ago. At the end of each case, the corresponding bibliography will be mentioned.

The majority of these cases has been presented in recent conventions of plastic surgery, repairing surgery and hand surgery associations. Some of these cases have been published in scientific magazines.

The selection of these cases is not indicative of the spread of the plastic surgery. The presentation does not include cases of repairing jaws, sternum deficits, splanchnic skull malformations or cases of the genital area. It aims, however, to show the ability of these techniques to present solutions to such difficult cases, in collaboration with the corresponding medical specialties.
